PRECARE
• Avoid alcohol, caffeine (coffee/tea), Aspirin, vitamin E, and any other blood thinners for at least 24 hours before treatment. Excessive bleeding can interfere with pigment retention and the overall look of your healed eyebrows.
• Shower and fix your hair as needed because immediately after your treatment, your eyebrows will not be able to have any contact with water for 24 hours.
• It’s best to wear dark coloured clothing and a dark coloured mask OR a disposable mask (mask optional). With the nature of this treatment, pigment staining is a possibility.
• On the day of the treatment, feel free to wear your regular eyebrow makeup. Doing so can help me see what you’re comfortable with in terms of thickness and colour. Your eyebrow area will be cleaned before the treatment.
AFTERCARE
-
Do not touch your healing eyebrows with unclean hands/brushes/towels, etc. for the full 14 days.
-
For the first 24 hours, your eyebrows cannot come in contact with any water. They have to remain dry to retain as much pigment as possible.
-
After 24 hours, you must wash your face, cleaning your eyebrows very gently with a mild cleanser that doesn’t contain AHA or BHA (ex. salicylic acid, glycolic acid) or physical exfoliants (beads/sand). Cleanse every night, for the next 14 days. After cleansing, pat eyebrows completely dry with a clean paper towel and apply the provided aftercare ointment using clean cotton swabs. Keep showers down to 5 minutes if possible and reapply the ointment right after. The ointment may help with any itchiness and can be applied as needed.
-
Do not put anything else on your eyebrows – no moisturizer, toner, serums, or makeup for the full 14 days.
-
Your eyebrows may get very dark while healing. Keep this in mind for any upcoming events. They will gradually peel during the 14 days and then heal about 20% lighter.
FOR 14 DAYS
NO Picking/Scratching
-
Do not pick at the scabs or scratch the eyebrows. Doing this will pull the pigment out prematurely.
NO Direct Sunlight
-
The sun will cause the colour to fade prematurely. While it’s healing, wear a hat or avoid the sun all together.
NO Sweating (work out), Saunas, Swimming
-
Immersing the healing eyebrows in water for a long period of time will cause the colour to fade prematurely.
NO Makeup on the Eyebrows
-
Unsanitary makeup and makeup brushes can also cause an infection to the site.
NO Polysporin
-
Polysporin is an infection treatment and although it may seem like a good idea with your open cuts, it will actually pull the pigment out. Only use if an infection has occurred. Please contact me beforehand.
NO Laser Treatments
-
Laser on the tattooed eyebrows could significantly darken the colour of the pigment beneath the skin.
